Eliana Gilad
Day 13

Eliana Gilad is an internationally recognized composer of healing music, a peace activist, an author, and the founder of The Voices of Eden Healing Music and Peace Center in northern Israel. As an expert in the conscious use of voice and rhythm as natural healing instruments, a practice that goes back to ancient matriarchal times, her unique wordless music has been medically researched in the neonatal ward of Meir Hospital, where physicians discovered that it lowers blood pressure and heart rate. It also increases focus and quality of sleep. Dr. Masaru Emoto's photograph of a water crystal exposed to her music also demonstrates the music's healing power.

Gilad is a frequent keynote presenter and performer at healing music, medical, and peace conferences around the world. She has given concerts at the United Nations, the UNESCO International Conference, and the Thank Water Conference. She is co-founder of Sacred Peace Tours, an organization that brings interfaith groups to the Holy Land to contribute to the peace process and meet local masters of living peace. Feature articles and reviews of Gilad's work have appeared in numerous publication and online journals. She writes a regular column for www.therapytimes.com and publishes a personal inspirational blog at www.inspirationalmessage.blogspot.com. She also sends out a free weekly newsletter: Inspirational Stories from the Holy Land.

Gilad maintains several websites related to her various business interests. There are two Voices of Eden websites, one in English (www.voicesofeden.com) and one in Hebrew (www.koloteden.com). In addition, a website was created to market her eBook Quiet in the Eye of the Storm (www.peace-in-war.com). Another promotes her sacred travel service: www.sacredpeacetours.com.

Gilad holds a bachelor's degree in Near Eastern Studies from the University of California, Berkeley, and is fully accredited through a professional studies program in Eastern Classical Music from Bar-Ilan University in Tel Aviv, Israel where she has also taught the Voices of Eden approach in the Music Therapy Faculty. Gilad has written two books: Rhythms of the Natural Voice Workbook (2002), a companion to a CD of the same name, and Quiet in the Eye of the Storm: Living Peace in a War Zone, a digital book and audio program that was written, recorded, and self-published during the 2006 Israeli-Lebanon War.
